Board of Supervisors

2.                  Ratify the following Proclamations:  Honoring Douglass Stewart Farmersville Fire Department Volunteer of the Year 2007; Honoring Scott Shade Farmersville Police Department Officer of the Year 2007; Honoring Bill Phillips Exeter Police Department Officer of the Year 2007; Honoring Kyrie Hubbard Exeter Fire Department Firefighter of the Year 2007; Honoring Ben Iosefa California Highway Patrol Officer of the Year 2007; Honoring James Howell Tulare County Sheriff's Department Officer of the Year 2007; and Honoring Jeff Smith Tulare County Fire Department Officer of the Year 2007.

3.                  Approve the deletion of the Three Rivers Fire Station location at 40900 Highway 190 as a designated Safe Baby Surrender Site.  Approve the designation of Three Rivers Fire Station #14 at 41412 South Fork Drive, Three Rivers as a Safe Baby Surrender Site.  Approve the designation of Lemon Cove Fire Station #13 at 32490 Highway 198, Lemon Cove as a Safe Baby Surrender Site.

Probation

4.                  Approve an agreement with the Tulare County Office of Education, Reconnecting Youth Program in an amount not to exceed $8,081 to provide services to detained youth for the period of March 18, 2008 through June 30, 2008.

Resource Management Agency

5.                  Authorize the submittal of a grant application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB), Targeted Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Incentive, in the amount of $175,000 for the overlay of Avenue 256 from Road 116 (State Route 63) to Road 140.  Authorize the Chairman to sign all grant related documents, subject to County Counsel approval to form.

6.                  Limit the number of vehicles to a maximum of 650 in Mooney Grove Park on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008.  Close the parking lot at Government Plaza on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008.  Post signs at Mooney Grove Park on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 with the following language:  "Anyone exhibiting inappropriate behavior will be removed from the park."

 

Sheriff/Coroner

7.                  Acknowledge and accept a monetary donation of $4,000 from Friends of Tulare County designated for the Sheriff's Search & Rescue Unit.

8.                  Ratify and approve an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, retroactive to January 1, 2008 through September 30, 2008.  Find that the Board had authority to enter into the Agreement as of January 1, 2008, and that it was in the County's best interest to enter into the Agreement on that date.
